From December 16th to Christmas Eve, children perform the “Posada” processions or Posadas, which is Spanish for Inn or Lodging. La posada is a Christmas celebration that emulates the journey that Mary and Joseph made, from Nazareth to Bethlehem, to give birth to their son Jesus. They went from door to door looking for somewhere to stay. There are nine Posadas.
