Understanding Mexico's Election - Free Webinar

👉 1 moderator (Armelle, TWIG's creator) and 2 informed Mexican Citizens, who have been following Mexican politics and economics for years, will gladly help us better understand what is at stake on Sunday June 2, 2024.

PROGRAM:

• Introduction (6min). The 2 guests will introduce themselves, express their message and why this Presidential electional is particularly important.
• The moderator will ask the following questions to the 2 guests who will have an equal time to answer.
• We will end with a Q&A with the audience.

1. Which of the 2 top candidates are you voting for and why?
2. Please explain to us what is your party about? (Claudia Sheinbaum - the ruling Morena party. Xóchitl Gálvez - the PAN party.)
3. How would you describe the 6 years presidency of AMLO (2018-2014)?
4. What do you see as the greatest attributes of your candidate?
5. What do you see being the most crucial differences between the two top candidates?
6. What do you see as the greatest threats to Mexico if the opposite candidate win on June 2nd?
7. How do you think a Catholic and often described macho country like Mexico, hands up most likely electing a woman President, and possibly a Jewish President?
8. Given the worsening water situation, what is your candidate's position to improve the water system and availability in Mexico? (Facts: Mexico is the #5 country to consume the most water in the world. 57% of Mexico’s population lacks access to a reliable water source, and 105 of the 653 aquifers in the country are being overexploited beyond their capacity to recharge.)
9. Given the worsening violence situation, what is your candidate's position to improve Mexico's security? (Facts: AMLO’s presidential term has been the bloodiest in Mexico’s history. In 2022 in Mexico, with a population of 128 million people, there were 30,968 homicides committed. By comparison, in the U.S. with 332 million residents, 26,031 homicides took place in 2022).
10. What is the importance and unique situation of GDL and Jalisco in this coming election?
11. Where do you see Mexico's heading in the geo politics of the globe? (Fact: Mexico is considered the 15th largest economy in the world, leading exporter in Latin America.)
